Board of Directors
The Board of Directors for PHI consists of:
President: Rob Kistenberg, MPH, L/CP, FAAOP: Rob was one of the founders of PHI and has been committed to delivering prosthetic & orthotic services to those who lack access to it both internationally and domestically since 1995. He has been an ABC Certified Prosthetist since 1992 and he obtained his Master of Public Health degree with a focus in Program Evaluation and International Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2005. He has lectured in the U.S. and internationally and hosted dozens of mission trips to Belize and other countries. Rob is also the founder of the Prosthetic Orthotic Component Clearinghouse (or P.O.C.C.), a P&O component recycling program dedicated to the provision of P&O goods to qualified individuals and facilities while reducing waste into landfill.
Vice President: Elizabeth Selgrade, MSPO: Liz graduated from Georgia Tech's MSPO program in 2012, served on a mission trip to Belize while she was a student at Tech and now works as an Orthotics Resident at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She is interested in both international and domestic O&P nonprofit efforts and holds the P&O Community Clinic at the Good Samaritan Health Center close to her heart.
Secretary: Kaitlin Cash, MSPO: Kaitlin graduated from the MSPO program at Georgia Tech in 2012. While a student, she developed a passion for international relief work through a rich experience in Belize and through involvement in the P.O.C.C. project. Kaitlin works as an Orthotics Resident at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Treasurer: John Davis, MIS: John graduated from North Carolina State University in 2006 with a Masters in International Studies. His focus was on US-Latin American relations and nonprofit management. He has over 10 years of nonprofit experience through volunteering, grant writing, fundraising and nonprofit development.
The Advisory Board exists in the capacity to support the Board of Directors in specific areas of expertise.
- Heinz Trebbin, CPO: Heinz is a world renowned prosthetist/orthotist who recently completed a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Glasgow-Scotland. He has worked extensively across the globe in efforts to improve P∓O services and establish P&O educational programs. His activities at Don Bosco University in El Salvador resulted in one of the strongest P&O educational programs in the world offering both local and distance learning. He has worked throughout Central America as well as in Cambodia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tanzania, Switzerland, Vietnam and Angola. He currently resides in Germany.
- Todd Norton, CP: Todd began participating in international mission trips in 1998 and has returned to Belize many times. He is an ABC Certified Prosthetist licensed in the state of Florida. He is the Clinical Prosthetist for Bremer Limb & Brace in Jacksonville, Florida.
- Melissa Malkush, CP: Melissa graduated from the MSPO program at Georgia Tech in 2007 and participated in international mission trips to Belize, Guatemala and the Thai/Burma border. Her passion for international mission work is palpable. She currently works for Ortho-Pro Biomechanics Group, West Hempsted, New York.
- Ian Carrick, CO: Ian has 25 years of experience as a Certified Orthotist and he owns and operates his own practice in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Ian has helped to establish clinics in various locations around the world and has lectured in Cambodian, Afghanistan, and elsewhere.
